Foundation-University of Maine GK-12 Sensors! Program
GK-12
Sensors!, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF),
is part of a national initiative to increase the education and
vision of young people in science, engineering and math. GK-12
Sensors! brings cutting-edge research in sensors to Maine
secondary-school students. Begun as a collaboration between faculty
at Bangor High School in Bangor, Maine and an interdisciplinary
team of engineers and scientists working in sensors at the University
of Maine, Orono,GK-12 Sensors! has expanded into fourteen
(14) high-, middle- and elementary schools in central Maine. These
schools serve as models for other Maine schools interested in
