GK-12 Program sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
University
of Maine College of Engineering
The College of Engineering at the University of Maine supports
the GK-12 Sensors Program by providing personnel, facilities,
technical support, and goodwill.
The
Laboratory for Surface Science and Technology, LASST
LASST engages in research, public service, and educational
activities providing a focus for training students and carrying
out research in high technology areas related to surfaces, interfaces,
and thin film materials. Research of advanced materials spans
the spectrum from basic science to applied technology in areas
related to microelectronics, sensors, composites, paper, and
other industries both within and outside the State of Maine.
The research effort at LASST is located in the University of
Maine Engineering Resarch & Science Building-Barrows Hall
and is strengthened by a strong full-time support staff, state-of-the-art
instrumentation, and funding from a mix of university, state,
federal, and industrial sources.
