Cristian Domnisoru

Dr. Cristian Domnisoru is a Research Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department at the University of Maine. Dr. Domnisoru's research interests include artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic, modeling and simulation. Dr. Domnisoru was a Fulbright Visiting Researcher in 1998 and a NATO Visiting Scientist in 1999 at the University of Maine. Prior to joining the University of Maine, he was a faculty in electrical engineering in the Technical University of Iasi, Romania. He was in charge of two funded grants for modeling and simulation of electrical machines using phase variables. Current research activities include :
   1) DNA Base Calling algorithm and software
   2) Gene expression data analysis.

Padma Natarajan

Padma Natarajan is a research associate at the Intelligent Systems Laboratory, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maine. She has been working on developing intelligent systems for a variety of industrial and research applications. In addition, she has been writing proposals and identifying sources for funding and new research avenues of interest to INTSYS. Her research interests include VLSI design and application of computational intelligence and image processing techniques in the areas of biological oceanography, biodiversity and ecosystems, genomics, pulp and paper, and digital mapping of terrain.
